Hudson Taylor is a world-class grappler, coach, and community builder whose journey through jiu jitsu and wrestling has made him one of the most respected figures in the sport. A multiple-time IBJJF World Champion in both gi and no-gi competition, Hudson has tested his skills against the very best—earning a victory over CJI Champion Nicky “Rod” Rodriguez, widely regarded as one of the top grapplers on the planet.

Hudson honed his jiu jitsu under the legendary 5x IBJJF World Champion Marcelo Garcia, whose influence shaped both his technical excellence and his commitment to mentorship. Before stepping onto the jiu jitsu mats, Hudson was a 3x NCAA Division I Wrestling All-American at the University of Maryland and later served as a coach for Columbia University’s men’s wrestling team, helping develop elite athletes at the highest levels of collegiate competition.

Beyond his accomplishments on the mat, Hudson is also the Founding Director of Athlete Ally, a national nonprofit working to champion inclusion in sports. He is a devoted husband and proud father of two daughters, bringing the same passion, empathy, and leadership to his family that he brings to his academy.

Hudson founded his New Hope academy with a simple mission: to help people become the best versions of themselves through the fellowship, discipline, and joy of jiu jitsu and wrestling. Known for his humility, warmth, and unwavering support of others, Hudson makes a lasting impact on everyone he meets—and on every life he touches through the art of grappling.
